So you know that it needs to be replaced but what is Kitec plumbing exactly? It is a brand of pipes that have been used for both hot and cold potable water within homes. There are also many builders who used Kitec plumbing in condos in and around the Hamilton area. The pipes come in two colours; orange for hot water and blue for cold water. The colour is a main indicator that you may have these in your home or condo; to be certain check for manufacturing markings that say either IPEX, KTC, or Kitec. This brand was a major seller that came into the market in 1995 and stopped being produced by 2007.
What are some of the Kitec plumbing issues?
The Kitec pipe problems begin with the fittings and connections. They were manufactured by IPEX in Canada and the company used too much lead and brass. This causes the connections to become damaged from corrosion over time and thus beginning to create a build up in the pipes. When the buildup occurs it causes extra stress and pressure within the Kitec water pipe and this added pressure to the system causes the pipes to fail and even burst in many past occurrences. Our professional plumbing company has been helping people in Hamilton and the surrounding area fix their Kitec Plumbing problems for years and with our experience and special equipment we’re able to provide the best quality service at a very competitive price. Be sure to check your home, apartment, or condo to see if these pipes are present. Nothing is worse than dealing with a bursting pipe that causes water damage to your living space and personal belongings. |
